Reengaging with China’s barley industry

With support from the National Foundation for Australia-China Relations, this project will support the enhanced use of Australian barley by the Chinese malting and brewing industries through renewing relationships, exchange of information, and visits of Chinese personnel to Australia to increase understanding of Australian barley technology and services.

Completed (April-June 2025)

• Planning continues to host an inbound delegation of Chinese barley, malting and brewing industry representatives in July 2025.

Scheduled (July-September 2025)

• In July 2025 we will host a dinner for the China Barley Reference Group for Australia (CBRGA).
• At the end of July 2025, we will host an inbound delegation of Chinese barley, malting and brewing industry representatives to Australia. Visits planned include breeding companies, industry good associations, grain receival sites, ports and logistics centres across Western Australia and Victoria. The delegation will also attend AGIC Australia in Melbourne.
• We will continue to develop a network of Chinese barley groups and contacts.
