Barley quality market intelligence: Central and Latin America

During market visits to the region since 2020, AEGIC identified the need to better understand opportunities within the Central and Latin American malting and brewing industries to further stimulate demand for Australian malting barley.

In response, with investment from Grains Australia, AEGIC will work in these markets to collate insights that help inform Australian industry decision-making on opportunities in these markets.

Completed (April-June 2025)

• We continued to engage with stakeholders in these markets and the Australian industry.

Completed (July-September 2025)

• We travelled to engage with customers in Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Brazil, Chile and Ecuador to continue technical engagement and information exchange with malting barley customers.

Scheduled (October-December 2025)

• We will deliver reports on customer preferences for malting barley to Grains Australia.
• Final report will be completed and submitted ahead of schedule.
