Barley quality market intelligence: Central and Latin America

During market visits to the region in 2023, AEGIC identified the need to better understand opportunities within the Central and Latin American malting and brewing industries to further stimulate demand for Australian malting barley.

In response, with investment from Grains Australia, AEGIC will work in these markets to collate insights that help inform Australian industry decision-making on opportunities in these markets.

Complete (March 2025)

• We identified representatives from the malting and brewing industries within the region and travelled to the markets in late 2024.
• In March 2025, we again visited the region, meeting with the barley, malting, brewing industries to further understand potential opportunities.

Scheduled (June 2025)

• We will continue to develop a network of Central and Latin America barley industry representatives.
• Depending on positive response from the respective industries, we will host a related event in early 2026 (to be confirmed).
